The advantages of Active Lime Rotary Kiln Calcination
1. Output of rotary kiln is higher which is very suitable for large-scale active lime production line, and the lime rotary kiln with daily capacity of 2200tons has been put into operation in the world; meanwhile many lime rotary kiln with daily capacity of 150-300tons has been in well operation in national and foreign market, which is also suitable for little lime enterprises.
2. Rotary kiln belongs to open type calcination with simple structure and fluent airflow, so the smoke containing sulfur could be exhausted in time meanwhile sulfur content in burning material is hard to adhering, thus the sulfur content in finished products is low which could meet the requirements of steel-making. At the same time, material will true roll inside of kiln and they are evenly heated, so the quality is stable, the crude burning rate or over burning rate is very low, thus it could calcine lime with high activity for steel-making. Under the same conditions, the average activity of lime produced by rotary kiln is over 30ml, normally it is 340-380ml, sometime even high to 400ml, which is much higher than that manufactured by gas kiln.

Rotary kiln could directly calcine fine granularity of 10-50mm, normally the fineness of mining product is 0-30mm meanwhile the fine granularity limestone accounts for 30-40% of the total output which couldn’t be used for other type kiln. Complying of the fineness material of steel raw material, sintering gradually takes use quick lime instead of limestone, fineness limestone couldn’t be comprehensively applied.
4. Utilizing vertical preheater in kiln end could adequately use hot smoke created by calcination inside rotary kiln could preheat limestone from normal temperature to primary disintegrating status. This could not only improve the output of rotary kiln, but also reduce the heat consumption of each unit product.
Utilizing vertical cooler in kiln head could not only quickly cool the hot lime, improve the activity of products, but also is easy to convey and storage. Meanwhile it could get the higher temperature 2nd wind for kiln，which could efficiently raise burning temperature inside of kiln and reduce burning material consumption.
6. The temperature of smoke exhausted by vertical preheater in kiln end is low, which is 280-350℃, and dust content is low which is about 20g/Nm3, this make the configuration of follow-up smoke treatment is simple and efficient, which could successfully meet requirements of the environment protection.
From general developing trend, our active lime production line should keep a foothold in local market. Rotary kiln will have a better developing future whatever for the adaptability of producing capacity or adequately utilizing of better limestone mineral resources.
